| Abstract | 為起中國佛教於衰頹，使能“應導現代人心正思”，民國太虛大師以“人生佛教”為旗幟，全面抉擇佛教現代化改革道路。教典抉擇。偏重理性的學者批評中國佛教為似教，《起信論》、《楞嚴經》為偽撰。太虛則認為：考證當服務於信仰，應由信而行來驗證知；《起信》為“登地菩薩”所作，臺、賢乃依佛說，不違“聖言量”。中國佛教直依根本智、宗在離言不思議法界，不為“依因明比量智解為宗”所限，故不能泥於印度所傳“主智”之空、有二宗而予否認。教理抉擇。太虛依緣起理判攝佛法，建立起人生佛教宗本“圓覺”的理論根據，故對依唯識理批判“真如緣起”者，巧為會合證成，並稱“佛法是理性的宗教”。教制抉擇。太虛以“僧”為佛法理性的制度體現，欲改革因家族化而窳敗的中國僧制，故反對以居士僧團或錫蘭僧制取代中國傳統僧團。其教制改革思想應時屢變，然皆以人生佛教為本。凈土抉擇。鑒於近代凈土信仰之偏狹消極，太虛以“唯識之凈土”釋往生之理；以“唯心凈土”倡凈化人間；因慈氏學理性、入世，普攝佛法，而歸宗旨在實現人間凈土的“彌勒凈土”。密教抉擇。太虛融通顯密，並對東密、藏密作理性化的抉擇。...
