| Abstract | 蘇州西園寺在明末清初確立了律宗的性質,後在清康熙時期又引入了禪宗的傳統,太平天國運動期間遭遇兵燹,晚清重建後恢復了律宗道場地位。西園寺堅守戒脈傳承和道風建設突出律宗特色,重視文化積累,積極開展僧眾教育和佛學研究,體現了人間佛教的理念,摸索出了一套在現代社會弘揚佛教優秀文化,安頓人心,服務和諧社會建設的成功經驗。
Xiyuan Temple established its position as a branch of the Vinaya Sect during the end of the Ming Dynasty and the beginning of the Qing Dynasty.Later,the tradition of the Zen Sect was introduced during the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty.After being burnt down during the Heavenly Kingdom uprising,Xiyuan Temple restored its position as the bodhimanda of the Vinaya Sect.Xiyuan Temple has been upholding the sila tradition and attaching importance to the construction of appropriate Buddhist conduct to outstand its persistence in the Vinaya. Meanwhile, cultural tradition has received due attention at the temp le. Buddhist research and education of the monks are being actively carried out. Thus its concept of p resent2life Buddhism is lively shown. The temp le has successfully gained valuable experiences in carrying forward Buddhist culture in the modern society as well as helping achieve social stability and construct a harmonious society.
