| Abstract | 環境問題是當今社會密切關注的重大問題，然而中國古代環境保護及其思想史方面的研究卻很少，為此本文以敦煌壁畫為研究對象，從多角度探討了一千多年前古代敦煌人的環境保護意識，論述佛教宣傳的眾生平等、因果報應是古代敦煌佛教環保意識的思想理論基礎，認為只有建立在一定思想理論基礎上的環保意識，才有利於環保行動和環保建設的可持續發展。
