| Abstract | 中國佛教發展至宋代，禪宗的獨立性逐步喪失，佛教諸宗並立，爭妍鬥豔的局面已不復存在，出現了各宗圓融統一，而以淨土為指歸的中國佛教新趨向，佛教進一步大眾化，世俗化。在中國佛教新趨向和大眾佛教的形成過程中，五代吳越國永明延壽大師起了承上啟下的重要作用。他的巨著《宗鏡錄》所主傳的禪教一致論；《萬善同歸集》所主張的禪淨一致，以淨土為指歸的思想對後世佛教產生了巨大影響，在中國佛教史上享有重要地位。
