Abstract本文簡要地以六點論述石頭宗的心性論:

一. 眾生的真心是超越生滅,先天本具,無所不備,湛然圓滿,是成佛的根據. 直下承當,即心是佛,不假外求. 那種向外求佛,盲目崇拜都是錯誤的.

二. 萬物是靈源所派生,顯現; 心與萬物是一體,是貫通的. 眾生只要開發自心,保持靈源皎潔,心地自然,以顯現萬物,包容萬物,達到泯除心物的界限,便可成佛了.

三. 理事如何融通? 石頭宗提出了「回互」的思維模式. 所謂回互也就是互相涉入,含攝,融通,亦即要認識理與事的統一面,又要認識理與事的對立面. 參玄者須在日常行事上隨時體悟事物,回復自性,就能事存理應,由事顯理,從而達到理事融通.

四. 吸取般若空宗和牛頭宗的理論,結合道家學說,石頭宗宣揚「無心合道」的思想. 無心也就是心空,其內含是不妄求. 若能做到心上無事,事上無心,這樣也就能達到虛空靈妙的境界,契合於道.

五. 通過道與禪是遍於一切,無所不在的想法,石頭宗人也同唱「無情有性,無情說法」.

六. 延壽在《宗鏡錄》提出「一心為宗」的主張,竭力以「心宗」來統一佛教各宗各派的學說. 「舉一心為宗」即是以一心為宗,心即是佛教的正宗.
