| Abstract | 日本在明治維新初期，曾發生廢佛毀寺，強迫僧侶食肉
，帶妻，蓄髮之法難. 但當排佛蔚為風潮時，各宗派有識
之士，紛派年輕僧侶至歐美印度考察，學習梵巴原典，吸收
西歐文獻學派，史料學派，社會科學等治學方法，致日本佛
教以世俗化面貌與西方治學方法出現，並向鄰近地區如中國
，台灣，韓國，越南，西伯利亞等地傳教.
本文以中央研究院近代史研究所出版之《教務教案檔》
為主，參考近代有關文獻，勾勒出日本明治維新後到清光緒
末年之向中國傳教活動，將「和平開教」時期及「外交談判
」時期之傳教始末及布教權交涉加以敘述，最後則以檢討日
本在華傳教失敗原因之檢討做為結論.
In the early phase of The Meiji Restoration
that it occurred to Buddhism temples god ruined and
monke devegetarianized，forced to have wives and
wear hair. Then，Buddhist sects had young monks sent
to Europe，the States and India for study of
Sanskrit and Pali classics. The methods in
scholarship acquired therefrom enforced the
secularity of Japanese Buddhism and helped advance
its missionary enterprise in China, Taiwan，Korea,
Vietnam and Siberia. A study of the Documents
reveals a clear picture of this missionary history
and thus answers the question about the failure of
Japanese Buddhism's missionary enterprise in china
in Late Ch'ing. |
