本來,「觀音法門」只是楞嚴經中35位大菩薩. 阿羅漢,講述的修行法門之一. 當時,會中諸大菩薩. 阿羅漢:最初發心悟18界,誰為圓通? 從何方便入三摩地? 從這段經文開始,揭露了25位大菩薩. 阿羅漢修行方便入處. 最後一位敘述的觀音菩薩,則從如何發落掛心. 入三摩地. 而至最後十方圓明獲二殊勝,一路直述其修行密意.
這個圓融無礙. 直接了證心地的無相大法,每一字句莫不代表每個大菩薩的修證過程的果位,其果殊勝處,近代學佛者已少能領會,更何況是身心投注的證入. 因此,才有本書今日的產生.
作者強調「發菩提心」及「入三摩地」,兩者為所有法門的基礎. 何以「發菩提心」如此重要? 菩提心即自性清淨之心,並凡夫不覺. 外道邪覺,皆是未開發此心故. 未發菩提心,修行易入外道,發菩提心就有這般重要.
而「三摩地」即定慧等持.《壇經》有言:定是慧之體,慧是定之用. 發菩提心,首要發慧,偏重在解在悟,而入三摩地,則在證,解行並進. 輕忽不得,如此才能圓融無礙. 現代人喜歡遍讀群書,但佛法修證若不下死功夫,只是徒然玩玩獨影境,又如何能受用? 作者以反覆講述. 帶領功夫參個的方式,能讓修行多年仍無法突破瓶頸的老參們. 頓捨執著. 當下返照般若智光.
