| Abstract | 戒，梵語「尸羅」，意思是止過防非。在佛陀成道之初，佛教是沒戒律的。因那時的佛弟子們，都以好心出家，其根器特別深厚，自然符合戒的要求而不犯。既然不犯，所以沒制戒的必要。據律的記載，舍利佛先請佛陀制戒，佛陀則說「無犯不制」。那時佛教僧團很純潔，用不著制定戒律來約束大家。直到佛陀成道以後的五年，才有比丘由於俗家母親的逼迫，與原來的妻子犯了淫戒。佛教的戒律，從此開始制定下來。 |
