Abstract天台宗智顗大師,在其《法華玄義》卷2-下,曾提出七種二諦的說法。這七種二諦分別是藏、通、別接通、圓接通、別、圓接別和圓等七教的二諦。從智顗對通、別接通、圓接通、別、圓接別等四種二諦的批評,我們可以看出他背後所預設的理論基礎。它們的理論基礎建立在《大品般若經》的三句經文和《涅槃經》裏的思想。《大品般若經》的三句經文是:『非漏,非無漏』、『一切法趣空,是趣不過』和『色即是空,空即是色』。而《涅槃經》裏的思想,則是「佛性」、「不空」的主張。智顗以《涅槃經》裏的「佛性」、「不空」的主張,詮釋《大品般若經》裏的這三句經文,並進而斷定通教的二諦是不含「佛性」、「不空」的二諦:因此是不究竟的二諦。而別教(含別接通)之二諦,雖含「佛性」、「不空」的內容,但卻只是空空洞洞的「但理」,不能本具一切法;因此,別教的二諦也是不究竟的二諦。只有圓教 (含圓接通、圓接別)之二諦,才是究竟圓滿的二諦。由於智顗是以《涅槃經》裏的「佛性」、「不空」,來詮釋《大品般若經》的三句經文,因此,儘管智顗自認為是龍樹的嫡傳弟子,實際上卻超出龍樹、提婆的《三論》,及他們所宗重之《大品般若經》的內容。
