AbstractEver since the Industrial Revolution, countries around the world have embraced the concept of capitalism. "Doing business" in what drives and preoccupies the society. How to run business or manage enterprises has therefore become an important part of knowledge in modern society. The study of Business Management thus rapidly evolves into one of contemporary prominent subjects.

Within the entire society, however, there are still quite a number of sectors, which involve in management but their activities can not be comprehended by the models nursed in capitalism. There are also organizations, which do not direct their activities according to normal models of business management. For these sectors, activities or organizations, the normal management models expounded by academics schooled in capitalist theory in fact can not adequately explain how they work or function. It is for the purpose of effectively dealing with the situation and filling in the gaps left by mainstream management theories, academics have recently launched into discussions on non-profit organization management.

In the past, the modernization of Buddhist groups is often regarded as a shift to enterprise managing and the public criticizes the change with contempt. However, this article will argue that the style of management embraced by Buddhist groups is not the normal style of enterprise management, but a kind of non-profit organization management. The article will distinguish between profit organization management and non-profit organization management. Then, using the example of Fokuang Shan,it will explain in which way Buddhist groups promote the theory of non-profit organization management, develop areas for academic discussion, and accomplish activities that are consistent with the ideals behind the theory. From these, one can observe what influences Buddhist groups have manifested in our academics in business management. Finally,we hope that profit and non-profit organizations cooperate to achieve the goal of creating a pure land in the world around us.
