AbstractThe author maintains that Maoism is a plausible development of Chinese culture and Chinese "Mind." His emphasis is upon the history of Chinese dialectics. Mentioned are double harness thinking, linked pearl thinking, concrete thinking,"nakamura thinking" about Chinese thinking, and Mao's interpretation and misinterpretation of Lenin. Mao's dialectics, notion of contradiction, and his pragmatism separate him from Lenin. Neo-Confucianism as a philosophy of action is seen to have some potential relationship to Marxism:the two systems are more alike than are Buddhism and Taoism like them.
