Abstract古城揚州北郊，有一座青黛橫亙的蜀崗，名揚四海的大明寺就在蜀崗中峰之上。大明寺始建於南朝劉宋大明年間，距今已有1500多年，唐代高僧鑒真就是從這里起航東渡的。清乾隆三十年，乾隆皇帝巡游揚州，看見大明寺門額上有“大明”二字，好生不快。
