| Abstract | 佛教在華初期傳教策略是依靠神仙道術在民間和宮廷中同時傳播，利用譯經和玄學興起之機，擴大在知識分子中的聯系和影響，此為佛教成功立足中國的基礎。與佛教所採取的策略不同，初入中土的景教僧積極尋求與官方的直接來往，將活動的重點放到宮廷中，較少在民間和知識分子中發展勢力。他們為欲邀寵，或造奇器異巧進呈皇上，或參與政務，做了許多與傳道無太大關系的事。過多依附上層，致使景教在華傳播最終歸於失敗。
Buddhism missionized among the upper and lower strata through Taoism and witchcraft at its first period in China. Making use of the Scriptures of translation and the rising metaphysicis, Buddhism monks got touch with Chinese intellectual and enlarged their influence on these people.This is a base that Buddhism missionized successfully in China. In contrast to Buddhism, Nestorianism is different from Buddhism, Nestorian missioners did not make themselves develop in the intellectual and populace, they place their focus on royal palaces and did a lot things that were nothing to do with mission, such as made exotic things for Chinese emperors, participated in government and political affairs. Overdepending on ruler eventually led to missionary failure of Nestorianism in China. |
