| Abstract | 印度大乘佛教瑜珈行派之《大乘莊嚴經論》(Mahāyānasūtrālaṃkara)，曾在印度名重一時，所謂「凡大小乘學，悉以此論為本，若於此不通，未可弘法」。於唐朝貞觀年間（630-632），由波羅頗迦羅蜜多羅（Prabhākaramitra，565-633）漢譯之後，雖然有惠淨法師講述與注疏（已佚失），但流傳不久。原因可能是漢譯品質不如玄奘(602-664)之其他各種瑜珈行派漢譯典籍，例如《攝大乘論》、《成唯識論》等，以及這些後期的論點的思想體系比較圓熟，在漢傳佛教都有形成「攝論宗」、「唯識派」等宗派。
法國學者 S. Lévi於1907年，將在尼泊爾發現的梵文寫本校訂出版，Lévi又於1911年出版法譯本與訂正，開始了近代佛學研究的風潮，到今年已經有百年之久，學術界也陸續發現其他12件寫本，並約有25餘篇的現代研究成果發表。其中，日文成果約200篇，約占80%，中文僅有7篇，約只佔2.8%。可見華人學術界仍然有許多努力的空間，特別是近年於西藏新發現有此論的寫本，更值得我們一起努力培養梵文佛學研究人才。
本文以開放原始碼(Open Source)書目管理資訊工具（例如：Zotero）整理這百年來的梵本《大乘莊嚴經論》之研究簡史，統計不同年代的研究數量與主要學者，評析研究類別，提供學術界參考，也做為未來建構與梵本《大乘莊嚴經論》研究之相關資料庫網站的準備。
The Mahāyānasūtrālaṃkara, a representative work of the Yoga Practice school (Yogâcāra) of Indian Buddism, used to be influential and highly valued in India. It was said, "For the learning of either the Great or Small Vehicle tradition, this treatise is always taken as the basis; without proficiency in this, one is not qualified to preach the Dharma." The treatise was translated into Chinese by Prabhākaramitra (565-633) during the Tang dynasty (630-632), and expounded and annotated by Ven. Huijing widely circulate, probably because the quality of the rendering was not so good as Xuanzang's (602-664) translations of other Yogâcāra works, such as She dasheng lun (Compendium of the Great Vehicle), Chen weichi lun (Discourse on the Theory of Consciousness-only) and so on. Another reason could be the later treatises were more mature in their ideologies. The successive development consequently results in the rising of such Buddhist sects as Shelun zong and Weishi zong in China.
In 1907, S. Lévi the French scholar corrected and published the Sanskrit manuscript of the treatise found in Nepal. Later in 1911, he published his French translation with revision, which originated the research on Buddhism in the modern times. For the century since the, 12 more Sanskrit manuscripts of the treatise have been found during academic researches, and more than 250 papers on 80%, totaling around 200, while Chinese papers rate 2.8% or so, only 7 in number. That indicates the great possibility for progression in Chinese academic researches, plus that a manuscript of the treatise also appeared in Tibet recently.
Using free, open source reference management software such as the Zotero tool, this article aims to develop a brief history of the late century's studies on the Sanskrit Text of major researchers of different ages, commentate and classify those studies. The coming result will provide the academies with references and make the preparation for future construction of the database website for the studies of the Sanskrit Text of Mahāyānasūtrālaṃkara. |
