Abstract本文探討吳彬〈十六羅漢圖〉所反映的晚明居士佛教文化的思想與現象。十六羅漢圖或十八羅漢圖是在明代極為流行的繪畫主題,但吳彬的作品,無論在風格或內容上都極賦創意;他的羅漢畫與前代及其當代的羅漢畫皆有明顯的不同之處。此外,吳彬身處的晚明時代,佛教受到廣大民眾與知識份子的接納,吳彬除了是個畫家,也以佛教居士自居;他的許多佛教繪畫是與他自身虔誠的信仰有密切關聯。吳彬的〈十六羅漢圖〉融合並具象化了畫家個人及其所處時代的佛教信仰文化。他的〈十六羅漢圖〉不再停留於傳統羅漢來自大乘及小乘的原始意涵;它更與吳彬當代的淨土宗、禪宗、居士佛教錯綜聯繫。
