| Abstract | 現存漢語大藏經漢晉之間的「古譯經典」，或者譯文用字生僻，或者譯文用字並非生僻，只是詞義已經變遷而容易造成讀者誤解。這些「疑難詞」可以分為兩類詞彙，一類是可以藉由近代學者對漢文典籍的訓詁研究，來追溯漢魏兩晉譯經的古義，也就是說，必須在漢語典籍中得到「確詁」，較難從梵語或巴利佛教文獻得到助益；另一類則是詞意晦澀，無法從漢語典籍得到合理的詮釋，只能藉助跨語言文本的對勘，在其他語言文本上定位此一譯詞的可能用字，進而推敲其對應意涵與翻譯用語。本文列舉一些經例來闡述這些特殊詞彙的詮釋。
In Chinese Tripitakas there are ‘difficult’ words or phrases in suttas which were translated between Han and Jin dynasty. These words or phrases are difficult to gain ‘precise’ or ‘proper’ meaning. Though some of them did not adopt rare characters at all, the meaning of them had migrated with times, and became different with conventional meaning nowadays. We may put these words or
phrases into two categories: one is to have them expounded in the light of contemporary Chinese books of them, the other is to find clues for explanations through comparative studies. This article raises some examples of these two categories for detail examination. |
