| Abstract | 代中國佛教史上曾經有過一個佛教組織林立的時期，而在眾多的佛教組織中，“中華佛教總會”則是最突出的一個。 該會的出現，使中國佛教徒最終走上了一個全國性聯合的統一道路，也使該會成為近現代中國佛教史上最早的一個具有真正統一意義上的佛教組織。本文對該會的成立背景與有關文件，及其政教關係等做了梳理，指出了該會的得失與意義，認為由於該組織依靠的領袖作用，章程不盡合理，加之派系的紛爭等原因，使其湮滅無聞。但是其在中國佛教史上的歷史作用是存在的，對此我們應該給予正視。 |
