抄録 | 從東漢至南北朝,漢譯佛典四言格文體經歷了一個逐漸定型的過程,其形成是時代駢體風尚、四言雅正觀念、四言語音優勢、譯經者語言文化素養等多重因素共同作用的結果。這種特殊的文體結構一經形成便無形地制約著譯經者的遣詞造句,在表義明確的前提下,譯經者往往採取增刪字數等手段對文句進行調控,譯經中不少表達形式的生成與這種調控密切相關。同時,為滿足四言"二二"節奏對雙音形式的需求,譯經者還採取多種方式延長或簡縮詞語形式,以湊足四言。不可否認,由於譯經者的這些努力,語言中形成了大量的雙音新詞語,客觀上對漢語的雙音化起到了一定的促進作用。
The Eastern Han Dynasty through the Six Dynasties(25—589) witnessed the gradual formation of the stylistic feature of four-character patterns in Buddhist scriptures in Chinese translation.The contributing factors include the popular parallel style of the times,the conception of the elegance and rightness of four-character patterns,the four-character pronunciation superiority,the linguistic and cultural accomplishment of individual translators,etc.This special stylistic pattern,once formed,would unconsciously influence the translators’ wording and phrasing. In other words , without failure to express the meaning clearly , they would manipulate the linguistic structure by adding or omitting words in translation. For example , they did the manipulation in order to satisfy the disyllabic form required by a 〃2 + 2 rhythm pattern〃of four-character phrases or sentences. It is undeniable that many new disyllabic words and phrases thus formed promoted the disyllabization of the Chinese language objectively.
