| 抄録 | Zen has made marvelous contributions to aesthetics：in painting，poetry，and gardening. but it has helped little in science. zen's doctrine of causation is subjective and moral. the external world is seen to have a dual character. on the one hand nature is to be admired，on the other hand it is to be despised because it does not conform to buddhist subjectivism. not only is zen unscientific and frequently anti-scientific (in recent times)，but it is also anti-rational. in ethics external causes in the social order are deliberately ignored and in this sense it shares with psychoanalysis a voluntarism and subjectivism that depend upon atomistic analysis. zen's present attractiveness is partially explained in terms of its congruence with capitalist individualism. it seems likely to have less effect on systematic，community-oriented，planned living. |
