During 1950s and 1960s, the Buddhists united to establish the Chinese Buddhist Association, actively participating the cause of building socialism. Since the Third Plenum of the 11th Party Congress, the majority of patriotic monks entered the healthy development, and served in the new stage of socialist socialist material and spiritual civilization construction. The development course of contemporary Chinese Buddhism is compatible with the socialist society.
