Buddhist scripture document is believed to be an important part in China’s historical culture. It holds a unique position in the development of ancient Chinese and foreign cultural exchange, which is embodied in the following four aspects: Firstly, Buddhist scripture translation exerted great influence on the cultural communication and inheritance between ancient Chinese and foreign nations; Secondly, the demands for the Buddhist scripture document promoted Chinese and foreign Buddhism communications. With contact between Chinese and foreign monks, Buddhist scripture was introduced abroad; Thirdly, the large amount of copies and inscriptions of Buddhist scripture provided evidence for the research of books system evaluation, document edition and catalogue patens in ancient China, which dramatically developed ancient Chinese books course; Finally, the great demands for Buddhist scripture home and abroad also led to the invention and wide-use of printing, thus the Buddhist scripture and printing spread all over the world.
