| 摘要 | The present article involves using the method of content analysis for conducting a preliminary analysis focusing on the content of publications which deal with Buddhism in the Taiwan area during the period from 1946 to 1986. In doing so，the reader will come to understand the tendencies in the development of Buddhism in terms of culture during the period from the Restoration of Taiwan (1945) to the present. From the results of such analysis, the reader can conclude that there is one basic and particular quality to the development; in other words, the forty years of Buddhist publications basically manifest the tendency of "The amount increasing while the content changeless." Judging from the proportions of the classified contents of books and periodicals, one can discover that traditional qualities like that in classical subject and general expository articles are in the majority. On the other hand，articles on the system，organization，and social nature of Buddhism are proportionally very few. The proportions between these tow types of articles are actually quite disparate，and each stage phase of change is small. This kind of result reflects the cessation of the development of Buddhist thought and culture in Taiwan after the Restoration. In addition，it reflects that Buddhism could not keep up with the rapid evolution of the structure of society in Taiwan and create an appropriate response. One can conclude that it also manifests the continued strength and basically conservative character of Buddhism in Taiwan and its relatively low degree of secularization.
