| 摘要 | 佛教傳入中國經歷了：介紹時期 -- 漢朝至東晉; 融合時期 -- 南北朝; 創造時期 -- 隋唐; 儒化時期 -- 宋至清，演變為中國傳統文化的一部分. 漢傳佛教與東方文化的關係有四個注意的方面：一. 漢傳佛教的融會貫通性，佛教吸收中國傳統文化，中國文化在吸收佛教過程中充實自己; 二，漢傳佛教善於隨時代發展而不斷充實發展自己; 三. 漢傳佛教與中土文化互相吸收，互相借鑒; 四. 由漢傳佛教的傳播與東方文化的關係，可供預測二十一世紀中國文化在吸收世界文化過程中發展的前景.
The transmission of Buddhism into China underwent the introductory phase (from Han to Eastern Tsin Dynasties);the fusion phase (Period of North-South Division);the creative phase (from Sui to T'ang Dynasties);and the Confucian influence phase (from Sung to Ching Dynasties)，resulting in the evolution of Buddhism into part of the Chinese cultural tradition. There are four
important points in the relationship between Chinese Buddhism and Eastern culture：(1) the syncretic nature of Chinese Buddhism; the strengthening of Buddhism and traditional Chinese culture by mutual incorporation;
(2) the capacity of Chinese Buddhism to develop in tune with the times; (3) the mutual learning process between Buddhism and Chinese culture of the Yellow River plains; (4) a vision for the incorporation of cultures from around the world into Chinese culture in the 21st Century，drawn from the relationship between the transmission of Chinese Buddhism and Eastern culture. |
