Buddhism thrived during the Tang Dynasty, which is marked by the large number of Buddhist temples. But, due to the change of dynasties and destruction of war, some temples were later either destroyed or displaced, which was accurately recorded in the history. This paper,then, makes an investigation as well as a study of over twenty Buddhist temples established during the Tang Dynasty and,based on pertaining historical records with biographies of some Buddhists, tries to correct some mistakes in the records and add some new information, as far as the establishment, development and location are concerned.
