Kṣitigarbha Bodhisattva, one of the four Mahayana Bodhisattvas, has a considerable number of believers and numerous stories of miracles. Domestically, the miracle stories related to Kṣitigarbha Bodhisattva are recorded in religious biography. However, research paper on this topic is very few. Therefore, my research paper is based on those who have miraculous experiences related to Kṣitigarbha Bodhisattva. By means of hermeneutic phenomenology, indepth interview and participant observation, I get the data and analyze it to realize what those people have learned from their special experiences and how their lives have been affected. Furthermore, I also try to explore the religious connotations brought by their miraculous experiences. There are four purposes for this research: 1. To realize the process of divine inspiration. 2. To explore the contents of miraculous experiences. 3. To understand how they get inspired through faith. 4. To figure out the changes of their attitudes toward life after their miraculous experiences. The research can be summarized into five key-points: 1. Divine inspiration comes from the Sutra-recitation with an imperceptible process. 2. Their miraculous experiences include: unexplainable phenomenon, recovery from illness without medical treatment, getting rid of depression, improvements in studies, enhancing positive energy, broadening their horizons, getting unexpected help, and fulfill their wishes. 3. Participating in Buddhist service helps them to confirm the identity and belongingness. They also eradicate their misconceptions and attain enlightenment; they are happy and away from sufferings; they are open-minded and have broad vision. 4. All these changes are attributed to amazing power brought by Buddhism.To realize the meaning and value of life. To respect and show concerns for others. To get rid of paranoia. To cultivate self-respect. 5. To have correct attitude toward “Life & Death”. One can prolong his life, improve his life quality and eliminate his evil Karma by chanting Sutra. In fact, “Life and Death” both represent the different stages of human’s lives.
