The all-male Buddhist Tongzhi Group is for the men only. It will be named
"XXX Buddhist Association. Its headquarter will be located at the San
Francisco Bay Area, California, USA. Any guys are welcome, regardless of
their sexual orientations, races and other factors. Our association
promotes the Buddhism to our members. Our association worships the 2 main
deities - the Avalokiteshvara (Tibetan: Chenrezig, Chinese: Guan Shi Yin)
and the Green Tara. Our association also worships the following trinity:
Amitabha Buddha, Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva, and Mahasthanaprapta
Bodhisattva; and other trinity: Manjushri, Avalokiteshvara, and Vajrayani.
Our association also worships the Sakyamuni Buddha, the Guru Padma-sambhava,
the 21 Taras, the Medicine 7 Buddhas (in the Eastern Worlds), and the Earth
Treasure Boddhisattva and so on. Its dharma protectors include the
Six-armed Mahakala, Wei-Tuo, Guan-Gong, and so on.
Our association mainly promotes the Mahayana, and the Buddha-remembrance
Dharma Door (Pure-land School). However, we also promote the Hinayana, the
Vajrayana, and the Chan School as well. Our association put the Sutrayana
and the Vajrayana on the equal status. We respect the gurus (lamas) of all
three different kinds include the sanghas, the beggar yogis (female:
yoginis), and the lay practitioners (especially the ngakpa/ngakmo). Our
association does not set up the sole fixed tutor system and do not set up
the sangha as our tutor. We will invite some qualified gurus to guide our
members. Our association encourages our members to chant the following
names or mantras without any break day by day: Amitabha Buddha,
Avalokiteshvara Boddhisattva, and the Six Syllable Mantra (the heart mantra
of Avalokiteshvara, Om Mani Peme Hung), and the mantra of the Green Tara (Om
Dare Dudare Dure Soha).
Our association promotes the dual practice of the Pure-land School and the
Vajrayana.
We do not allow the monk to join our association.
We may consider if we set up the junior membership for the boys aged 12-17.
The male adults aged 18 or over are the fundamental members.
P.S. If our association need to set up the fixed tutor, he should be the lay
practitioner, cannot be the monk.
The Objectives of the XXX Buddhist Association
1. Promote the equality of the sexual orientations, regardless of the
individuals are gay, bisexual or straight.
2. Object to any discrimination, include the racial discrimination,
discriminations to the disabled persons, and so on.
3. Promote the Buddhism to its members and the society.
4. Pay attention to the Male Issues and Male Movement. Pay attention to the
feminism, and response to the feminist. Explore the masculinity.
5. Promote the man-to-man intimacy and improve the social relationship
between the guys.
6. Encourage the inter-helps and cooperation between the guys.
7. Provide many sports and recreation activities and social activities to
its members.
8. Provide the religious activities and religious discussion for its
members.
9. Promote the health lifestyle, prohibit the alcoholism, smoking (the
tobacco), and drug, include prohibit the soft drug.
10. Promote the vegetarian (include the vegan), prohibit the Five Alliums,
e.g. Onion, Garlic, Scallion, Leek, and so on.
11. Promote the seven sports skills: a. Bodybuilding, b. Swimming, c.
Wrestling, d. Wu-Shu (Kung-Fu, martial arts), e. Gun shooting, f. Scuba
diving, g. Water-ski.
12. Hold the charity activities and contribute to the society.
