Succeeding the remarkable works published overseas by Jane Roberts and Sylvia Browne who are well known for their identities of shaman who possess supernatural abilities, the work of “The Little Lily of Buddha” published by Ling-Chi had also raised the vogue of exploring supernatural ability in Taiwan. Since Miss T’s fingers were able to read the unusual phenomena in the experiment conducted by Dr. Lee Si-Chen, it was reported that she had begun to
contact her Master and the Great Spirit through her supernatural eyes. It seems about time to perceive the supernatural powers with scientist’s attitude, not just recklessly reckoning it as mental illness.
Dr. Chen Kuo-Gen points out that there are four elements consisting the life: materials, energy, information and intelligence, among them the information and intelligence will suffice to constitute the spirit. Dr. Wang Wu-Shih also has a creative thought that everyone has his or her spiritual information field. From this point of view, the spirits of sentient beings are compared
to the e-mail boxes of network in terms of their functions of receiving, arranging, saving and deleting information. It may be easier to have an internal communication in each of the Six Destinies of Heaven, Asura, Sentient Beings, Animals, Hell and Hungry Ghost, as referred to by Buddhism. However,
intercommunications across Six Destinies seem only to be done by shamans who possess supernatural abilities. Internal communication within the same Destiny is as much similar to intranet as intercommunications across Destinies to Internet. The shaman here plays the role similar to a translator, who should not only master different languages but also make the translation meet the quality of authenticity, perspicuity, and elegance. From the broad view of Six Destinies, each Destiny will become an enclosed system, unable to communicate with another destiny when there is no shaman as a bridge between Destinies. In this case, the spirits of all beings will be hindered from studying and advancing, so the presence of shaman is helpful to the communications among Six Destinies. Indeed, shamans have played an indispensable role in maintaining the open information field in the great system of Six Destinies.
