有人說《雜阿含經》是一部禪修的經典，剛開始時總覺得這是什麼道理？百思不得其解。後來，讀到《瑜伽師地論》卷26、27，提到「所緣」的理論，再將該理論放到《雜阿含經》各個經文去研讀，果然發現《雜阿含經》是一部談修止、修觀的經典，為了方便大家研讀《雜阿含經》有個準據，底下就將《瑜伽師地論》裡提到「所緣」的理論，說明如下。
