NoteHeidegger on East-West Dialogue: Anticipating the Event. By Lin Ma. Routledge; 1 edition (December 5, 2007) 284 pages. ISBN-10: 0415872146 ISBN-13: 978-0415872140
AbstractAccording to Ma, the above interactions can be basically categorized into two camps: The Japanese scholars who focus on Zen Buddhism and the Chinese scholars who focus on Daoism (although there are healthy crossovers). The Zen Buddhists engage Heidegger's idea of nothingness with Buddhist emptiness (sunyata, kū, kong ); the Chinese scholars generally focus on dao as a way of meditative practice, interacting with Heidegger's Weg of hermeneutics and phenome.
