Abstract南北朝時代道生法師融協儒道兩家思想,攝受「空」「
有」兩宗理論,以俊逸之天資,闡佛法之真義,而有其「頓
悟成佛」,「法身無色」,「佛無淨土」,「善不受報」之
理論特色,並以「開頓悟思想之新境」,「主理一物殊之觀
念」,「啟澄觀學說之理路」顯其思想之價值意義,因以形
成此時期中國佛學思想之特殊勝義. 透過本文之論述,即
知道生循儒道之思路,揭佛家之義理,引世事之明徵,詮幽
微之妙諦,誠佛門之龍象也.

During the North-South Dynasty the venerable
Tao-sheng ingeniously explained the true meaning of
Buddhism by merging the thoughts of Confucianism and
Taoism and by absorbing the theories of both the
`Sunyata` and the `Vijnana` Schools. His main ideas
such as "attainment of Buddhahood by instantaneous
enlightenment," "the formlessness of the Dharma Body
," "the non-existence of the Pure Land,"and "no
reward for virtue" became the characteristics of
Chinese Buddhist thoughts at his times. This article
relates how the Venerable interpreted Buddhist
doctrines along the Confucian and Taoist lines of
thinking,and how he expounded the profound Truth by
citing evidence from the secular world.
