| Abstract | 在佛學的領域中，「因果律」可說是佛法的中心課題之一. 但究竟何者是「因」? 何者是「果」? 「因」與「果」間具何種關係? 這些問題便是本文所要探討的主內容.
本文擬從分析哲學的觀點，特別是對休姆與米勒的因果哲學的考察及對西方因果律邏輯架構的分析，從中尋出佛教因果法則的理論根據; 同時也使人了解佛教對「因果律」看法的深入所在. 最後，作者並指出佛教中的「因果律」是特別著重於倫理道德的關係上的，以使眾生了解業力的果報而知警醒，從而維持社會秩序，建立人間淨土，然後能更進一步了脫生死，共證涅槃.
