| Abstract | 佛教產生于公元前6～5世紀的古代印度。它的產生,既有經濟與政治方面的背景,又有思想文化方面的原因。此外,歷史、地理環境及種族的影響,釋迦牟尼個人的創教努力等等,也都是不可忽視的因素。關于佛教的起源,前賢已多有論述。筆者在學習與研究的過程中,也有若干想法。在此不憚芹獻,以供諸先進及讀者們指謬。
The author believes that Buddhism as a religion owes its birth to the political,economic and cultural realities in the Buddha′s time, and, in particular, to the conflicting cultures and contending schools of thought in eastern India, where, the author argues, Brahmanism had a strong influence but had not yet establish edits firm hold.
