Abstract | A symposium on world religions and human rights was held in Paris, 1989. Hans Kung presented his views on the theme from a Christian perspective, his article was entitled:"Kein Weltfriede ohne Religionsfriede" (no world peace without peace among religions). Scholars from other religious traditions such as Islamism,Judaism,Confucianism,Buddhism, and Hinduism were asked to give their response to his views. I had responded from a Confucian perspective. The world situation has changed a great deal since then, further reflections on the problem are certainly needed. I firmly believe that creative interpretation of the Neo-Confucian idea "li-i-fen-shu" (one principle, many manifestations) can shed some light on possible solution of the difficult problem we have to face today. |
