Abstract僧肇(384-414)是著名譯經大師鳩摩羅什(344-413)門下的傑出弟子,是我國東晉時期的重要佛教思想家。史載僧肇年輕時"性好玄微,每以莊老為心要府,嘗讀老子,至道德章,乃嗟嘆日:美則美矣,然則斯神冥累之方,猶未盡也。後因遇見舊維摩經,歡喜頂受,披尋玩味。乃言:今始知所歸矣。因此出家。"(①)這段記載說明對於《維摩經》的研習修學,在僧肇由服膺莊老之學而皈依佛教信仰的過程中,起到根本的作用。羅什弘始八年(公元406年)於長安大寺新譯《維摩詰經》,僧肇"時預聽次",(②)並據現場
