| Abstract | 圓光禪寺由妙果法師開山，創建於日治時期，至今已有百年歷史。甫創立之初，便積極於佛教教育方面，尤其培育人才。歷經不同時期的政治時局以及社會變遷，圓光禪寺的教育如何的適應與調整？本研究將以圓光禪寺創辦的教育發展歷史演變為切入點，藉此掌握佛教教育的轉型發展。從日治時代的講習會開始，到如今具有規模與系統的圓光佛學院，紮實與悠久的教育歷史已享譽海內外。本文想藉由圓光禪寺的佛教教育發展史，看圓光禪寺在每個時期的教育特色。
Founded by the Venerable Miao Guo in the Japanese Colonial Era, the Yuan Kuang Ch’an Monastery is over 100 years old. Soon after its founding, the monastery actively developed the Buddhist education, especially in nurturing and training Buddhist talent. Having lived through different political development stages in Taiwan and having witnessed the social changes involved, how have the educational programs at the monastery adapted and adjusted accordingly? This research focuses on the historical development of Buddhist education as conducted by Yuan Kuang Ch’an Monastery, and seeks to grasp the transformational development of Buddhist education. Starting from the lecture assemblies initiated in the Japanese Colonial Period, the Yuan Kuang Ch’an Monastery has developed a comprehensive Buddhist education system, with a long history of solid education programs renowned both at home and abroad. This essay aims to explore the educational features in different phases of Yuan Kuang Ch’an Monastery, in light of the history of its Buddhist education. |
