| Abstract | 唐代以前的「醜女」形象大多面醜，卻充滿智慧，為丈夫的賢內助，甚至能興邦定國。唐代的醜女形象卻更加多元，不強調容貌與才德的落差，直書其醜貌，造成讀者閱讀時的趣味性，甚至，還出現了能由醜女變成美女的〈醜女緣起〉。〈醜女緣起〉的故事，可見於《撰集百緣經》、《賢愚經》、《雜寶藏經》等三部漢譯佛典，不過，南朝梁武帝命沙門僧旻、寶唱等輯錄《經律異相》，其中的〈波斯匿王女金剛形醜以念佛力立改姝顏二〉亦記載〈醜女緣起〉的故事，卻為人所忽略，本文擬比較此五篇描寫醜女的佛經故事，加以論析其人物形象有何特色及變遷。
The Ugly women character image before the tang dynasty have a ugly face, but she is wise. She can become a husband's sage and can building a country. The Ugly women character image in the tang dynasty become mre diverse, not stressed drop between face ane moral, direct writing the ugly face, make the interesting when the reader reading. Even, produce “Ugly women origin” that can be turned from ugly to beautiful. “Ugly women origin” appear in “juan ji bai yuan jing”, ” shian yu jing”,” tza bau tzang jing” in these three books. But Emperor Liang Hanwu command seng min, bau chang collect “jing liu yi shiang. “Persian ni wang niu King Kong shing chou yi nian fo li li gai shu yan”also record”Ugly women origin”，but everyone will ignore this article. This article want to comparison with five buddhist scriptures which description ugly women , and analysis the character image that features and changes.
