| Abstract | 본 논문의 목적은 『쁘라산나빠다』 제2장 ｢관거래품｣ 제1, 12, 14송에 포함되어 있는 유부 삼세실유론에 대한 용수와 월칭의 귀류 논파의 구체적인 내용을 파악하기 위한 것이다. 논자는 그런 목적에 따라 『대비바사론』과 『순정리론』 중심으로 해서 ｢관거래품｣ 제1, 12, 14송과 관련되어 있는 유부의 삼세실유론을 정리한 후 그것을 ｢관거래품｣ 제1, 12, 14송에서 발견되는 운동 논파에 적용해 보았다. 그 결과 다음과 같은 사실을 알 수 있었다.
첫째, 유부의 삼세실유론을 ｢관거래품｣ 제1송 및 그에 대한 월칭의 주석에 적용하면, 삼세의 ‘가는 작용’은 그 존재가 모두 부정된다. 그리고 ‘가는 작용’에 대한 존재 부정은 모든 종류의 작용에 그대로 적용될 수 있다. 그렇게 해서 삼세의 모든 작용의 존재가 부정되면, 삼세실유론은 현실에서 발견되는 여러 법의 ‘생멸이나 거래’를 설명할 수 없는 불합리한 학설임이 밝혀지게 된다.
둘째, 유부의 삼세실유론을 ｢관거래품｣ 제12, 14송 및 그에 대한 월칭의 주석에 적용하면, 삼세의 ‘가는 작용의 시작’은 그 존재가 모두 부정되며, 그로부터 연이어 삼세의 법과 그것의 원인인 작용의 존재도 부정된다. 그리고 삼세의 ‘가는 작용의 시작’에 대한 존재 부정은 모든 종류의 ‘작용의 시작’에 그대로 적용될 수 있다. 그렇게 해서 ‘삼세의 모든 법 및 모든 작용’의 존재가 부정되면, 삼세실유론은 앞에서와 마찬가지로 현실에서 발견되는 여러 법의 ‘생멸이나 거래’를 설명할 수 없는 불합리한 학설임이 드러나게 된다.
이처럼 유부의 삼세실유론을 ｢관거래품｣ 제1, 12, 14송 및 그에 대한 월칭의 주석에 적용해 보면, 삼세실유론에 대한 귀류 논파의 모습들이 나타난다. 이로부터 우리는 ｢관거래품｣ 제1, 12, 14송 및 그에 대한 월칭의 주석 속에 삼세실유론에 대한 귀류 논파가 포함되어 있다는 사실과 함께 그 구체적인 내용을 알게 된다.
The purpose of this paper is to understand the content regarding the logical confutation of the realism of Sarvāstivādin by reductio ad absurdum, which is included in Gatāgataparīkṣā: Analysis of going and coming, the second chapter of Mūlamadhyamaka-kārikā. This confutation has been examined and then applied to the first, twelfth, and fourteenth verses of The analysis of going and not going. As a result, the following has been discovered.
First, when applied to the first verse of the second chapter, as well as the commentary by Candrakīrti, the realism of Sarvāstivādin maintains the denial of the existence of action in time. If this is the case, the occurrence and extinction, or going and coming of things in reality, can not be explained and thus it is an unreasonable theory. Second, when the realism of Sarvāstivādin is applied to the twelfth and fourteenth verses of the second chapter, including the commentary of Candrakīrti, the following is understood. According to the realism of Sarvāstivādin, the existence of all dharma and causative actions of the past, present, and future is denied. If all dharmas and causative actions are denied then, as stated above, the theory turns out to be an unreasonable explanation of occurrence and extinction, or the going and coming, of things in reality.
Based on the above, the second chapter of Mūlamadhyamaka-kārikā contains a confutation by the logic of reduction to absurdity of the realism of Sarvāstivādin and the concreteness of its content.
