| 抄録 | 僧叡為鳩摩羅什門下弟子之一. 與道生，僧肇，道融齊
名，並稱關中四聖. 什所譯之經，叡並參正. 本文旨在說明
魏晉玄學與佛教思想交涉時，僧叡深體漢譯佛典之傷本乖
趣，舛誤失義，然卻未囿於此，而有其般若觀，法華觀，禪
觀與判釋觀，以成其大乘佛教之思想. 此外，並指出僧叡主
倡「禪」「智」雙運之觀點乃其思想之特色，尤以其判攝佛
教經論，於中國佛教之教相判釋，尤有其原始雛型之意義，
而顯其於中國佛教思想史上之特殊地位.
Among the thousands of disciples of Kumarajiva
(344-413)，`Tao-seng` (道生)，`Seng-ch'ao` (僧肇),
Tao-yung (道融) and `Seng-jui` (僧叡) were
being praised by the people as "The Four Sages of
the Ch'ang-an Area" for their outstanding
performances on Buddhist philosophy. This paper well
present a discussion of `Seng-jui's` (355-439)
thought.
Before the arrival of Kumarajiva, many errors
had been committed in the translated Chinese
Buddhist scriptures. This is because the Chinese
monks who were involved in the translation work were
weak in Sanskrit，while those foreign monks were
weak in Chinese. Therefore，people found it hard to
grapse the profound Buddhist doctrines when reading
the scriptures rendered by the early translators.
`Seng- jui` had long been discontented with it is
situation.
After having followed Kumarajiva, the Sanskrit-
Chinese bilingual Chief Translator，to work in the
translation centre in Ch'ang-an，`Seng-jui` began to
grapse more and more the real aspect of Buddhist
philosophy. Then，he established his own point of
view to the doctrines of the `Prajnaparamita` Sutras
and of the Saddharmapundarikasutra. Also，he began
to classify the scriptures in accordance with the
thoughts that was containing in them.
In addition，`Seng-jui` emphasised on the
importance of meditation practice，and he stressed
that meditation and wisdom are of the same
importance. |
