| 抄録 | 生存在五代十國時期的吳越國的永明延壽 (904~975)，向來以『萬善同歸集』的禪淨融合說知名，且他的主著『宗鏡錄』是以禪，天台，華嚴，法相等四宗之說形成其心學. 他的思想，主張，其實也已反映出他所生存的時代的思潮，社會的環境，及佛教界的變化. 所以筆者意圖藉文獻學的方式，剝離後世傳記終非原有的描述，詳細檢證他的相關傳記，試圖還原其人的真實面貌.
文中所附的 [表一]，[表二]，是筆者網羅各相關典籍，依年代先後 ([表一]) 及項目之別 ([表二])，具體地比對，配列各文獻的成果，希望藉此清楚地呈顯出受到時代思潮及宗派理念影響的永明延壽的面貌之變遷. 換句話說，筆者意圖透過文獻學的方式，以歷史變化的角度表明，不僅每個人都在寫歷史，其實時代和社會，歷史也透過當時當地特有的認知而塑造個人.
Yung-ming Yen-shou (904~975) who lived during the period of the five dynasties and ten countries in Wu-yueeh, has always been famous for the theory of harmonizing ch'an and pure land which he detailed in his Confluence of Everything Wholesome. In his main work, The Essential Mirror, he formulated his teaching of the mind based on four schools -- Ch'an, Tien-t'ai, Hua-yen, and Fa-hsiang. His concepts and ideas reflect the intellectual climate, social environment, and changing the true face of Yung-ming Yen-shou by removing via the philological method those parts of his biography which are later additions, and subjecting the relevant records to detailed scrutiny.
All relevant sources the present writer was able to locate have been arranged in synoptic manner according to date (Addendum I) and item (Addendum II). It is hoped that this arrangement of material will help to demonstrate clearly how the picture of Yung-ming Yen-shou changed due to influences of intellectual fashion and sectarian viewpoints. In other words, the present writer is trying, by way of the philological method, to show from the angle of historical change not only that every person is writing history but also that the times, the society, and history model the shape of the individual through the understanding specific to that time and space. |
