| 抄録 | 본 연구는 『법화경』에서 언급하고 있는 비유의 사례들을 내러티브형 설법으로 활용하기 위한 방법을제시하고 있다. 설법은 청법대중을 설득하여 생각과 태도, 행동을 변화시키는 방법이다. 설법은 설법사의 능력과 전문성, 깨달음의 정도, 수행이력 등에 따라서 다양한 방법으로 전개될 수 있다. 효과적인설법을 위해서는 텍스트의 적절한 선택, 배경을 이해시킬 수 있는 콘텍스트의 설명, 그리고 메시지를 강조할 수 있는 다양한 수사법의 활용 등이 조화를 이루어야 한다. 내러티브형 설법은 스토리를 구성하는플롯(plot), 등장인물(character), 배경(setting), 관점(viewpoint), 메시지(message) 등을 체계적으로갖추고 있어야 한다. 그리고 이를 보완할 수 있는 사진, 그래픽, 동영상, 음악 등의 보조적 자료를 활용할 수 있다.
『법화경』은 수기설법을 통해서 아뇩다라삼먁삼보리를 체득하고, 나아가 대승불자로서 보살행을 실천하는 내용으로 구성되어 있다. 그리고 청법대중의 근기의 수준(상근기, 중근기, 하근기)에 따라 정설, 비유, 인연 등의 방법을 활용하여 그들의 이해도를 높여주고 있다.
본 연구에서는 다섯 가지 비유(삼거화택유, 장자궁자유, 삼초이목유, 화성유, 의자유)에 담긴 내러티브 설법의 요소에 대해 논의하였고, 그 결과 법화경의 비유를 내러티브형 설법으로 활용하기 위한 방법을 제안하였다.
This study suggests using the cases of parables mentioned in 『The Lotus Sutra』 as a narrative sermon. A sermon is a method of persuading the masses, those who want the Buddha's teachings, to change their thoughts, attitudes and actions.
The sermon can be developed in various ways depending on the preacher's ability and expertise, the degree of awakening, and the history of asceticism.
For an effective sermon, proper selection of text, explanation of context to understand the background, and use of various rhetoric to emphasize the message must be harmonized. Narrative sermons should systematically include plots, characters, settings, viewpoints, and messages that make up the story. In addition, supplementary materials such as photos, graphics, videos, and music can be used to complement it.
『The Lotus Sutra』 is composed of acquiring Annuttara-samyak-sambodhi (the consummation of incomparable awakening) through a sermon about vyakarana (receiving a prediction of awakening from the Buddha) and practising the bodhisattva as a Mahayana Buddhist. Furthermore, according to the level of ability (high, middle, low) of the people who requested the sermon, methods such as orthodoxy, analogy, and relationship enhance their understanding.
In this study, the elements of narrative sermon contained in the five parables (the parable of the three carts and the burning house, the rich father and his poor son, the three herbs and the two trees, the fantasy castle, the good doctor) were discussed. As a result, a method for using the parable of the Lotus Sutra as a narrative sermon was proposed.
