After Guan-yin belief spread to Taiwan, its development is quite fast. The Guan-yin Bodhisattva's hometown ----Pu-tuo holy land, as people are familiar with naturally, also launched different levels of impact. The most direct influences are monks of Pu-tuo holy land who come to Taiwan, and many Taiwan temples which claim their inheritance originate from Pu-tuo holy land heritage. It is more positive that many religious pilgrims travel long distances to go to Pu-tuo holy land. This type of pilgrimage cost much money and time, in this sense the faith can be seen by the devout religious believers. Moreover, the legendary of Putuo holy land and related stories which are circulated in Taiwan play a more powerful appeal, especially in deepening the faith of Guan-yin.
