Abstract | 本文是以個案研究的方式,探討鄉鎮佛教會籌辦佛學班的發展概況及其生態,從而了解現有佛教會在發展佛學班的過程中所面對的問題和展望。佛教不僅是信仰,亦強調修學,因此信佛也稱為學佛,說明了佛教教育在佛法流布的過程中,有著密不可分的關系。佛教在阿育王時代傳入馬來半島後,經歷了不同程度的發展,一直到今天,馬來西亞佛教呈現了多元的面貌。佛教團體更是遍布全國。
一些佛教團體為接引年輕一代,也在佛教會開辦佛學班。由於佛教會的日常活動通常比較適合青年或年長者參與,因此佛學班便成了兒童和青少年參與佛教會的重要途徑。本文以森美蘭州宜嘜區佛教會及霹靂州實兆遠佛教會這兩所鄉鎮佛教會佛學班為研究個案,探討佛教會在籌辦佛學班過程中的發展概況、面對的問題、解決的方法及未來的展望。通過相關負責人的訪談和資料的爬梳,以呈現這兩所佛教會這些年來推動佛學班的概況,以盼能從中借鑒學習,改善佛學班的運作。
佛學班的發展概況主要從兩個角度切入:一是以課程發展的要求來審視,二是從時間的演變中考察。借這兩個切入點,探討佛教會在推動佛學班的工作上是否有長足進展,及其問題關鍵何在。
The objective of this case study is to investigate the development and ecology of Dhamma classes organised by Buddhist Association. The study focuses on the problem faced by these Dhamma classes and their prospect. Buddhism is not merely emphasizes faith but also practice, therefore believein Buddhism also known as learning Buddhism. Buddhism spreading process cannot be separated from Buddhist education. Buddhism in Peninsula Malaya has gone through different stages of development since brought in during Asoka era. Currently, Buddhism in Malaysia has emerged in multifaceted appearance; Buddhist association also has been founded throughout the nation. Some of the Buddhist associations organise Dhamma classes to attract younger generation. Normally, the daily activities in Buddhist association are tailored for adults and elderly people, therefore Dhamma classes become an important channel for children and teenager to join the association. The samples for this study consisted of Jimah Buddhist Association and Sitiawan Buddhist Association. Investigation has been done to reveal the development process, problem faced, solution and prospect in future for Dhamma classes. Interviews and data analysis was used to describe the development of Dhamma classes. The findings will help to improve the operation of Dhamma classes in future. Two approaches, namely, curriculum and time-serial were used to investigate the development of Dhamma classes. These approaches were used as measure for the improvement of Dhamma classes and their main problems faced. |
