Abstract中國佛經翻譯歷史悠久,早先由印度原典或西域流通的版本翻譯為中文。近年來由於藏傳佛教弘揚世界各地,藏典翻譯精準的特性廣受注目,翻譯語向轉為藏譯英,再由英譯中。由於中國早已隨佛經之文體,而有自成一格之翻譯傳統,如何將這些策略運用於新的翻譯語向之上,值得深究。
本論文擬以西藏寧瑪派成就者雪謙嘉察針對西藏著名論典《修心七要》之註解,名為《菩薩道─通往成佛之路》之中譯本,作為研究及翻譯的對象。論文共分兩大部分:第一部份為《菩薩道─通往成佛之路》之導讀;第二部份為筆者中譯《菩薩道─通往成佛之路》之全文。論文的第一部份主要有四個課題:第一是本書之相關作者的背景介紹,並綜合現有之相關著作,分析此書在藏傳佛教之地位。其次分析作品結構、內容特色,及其在現代社會的重要性。第三從整體與個別字句來探究本書之文體,以佛教特有之文體為標準,尋求最適當的翻譯策略。最後從學術界與出版界兩個方向,評估藏英漢翻譯之價值與展望。論文的第二部份,分為翻譯正文及註腳,註腳處細標經文出處,以及漢英兩版本之對照情況。

China has a long history of Buddhist translation, which obtained the original texts from India and central Asia over one thousand years ago. Recently due to the expansion of Tibetan Buddhism around the world and the striking precision of its scripture translation, the translation direction has shifted from SanskritChinese to TibetanEnglish and further EnglishChinese. Since China has already had its independent translation tradition in correspondence to the styles of different Buddhism scriptures, it is valuable to explore how to apply these traditional strategies to the new translation direction.
This thesis is intended to discuss over Zhechen Gyaltsab’s book, Path of Heroes, which is a commentary on a famous Tibetan sastra, Seven Points in Meditation. There are two parts in the thesis: an introduction and an annotated Chinese translation of it. The introduction focuses on four points. Firstly it unfolds with the biographies of the authors and the compilation of the current related works, with which I present the status of this book in Tibetan Buddhism. Then I analyze the the structure of the book, characteristics of the contents and its importance in the modern world. Thirdly I probe into the styles of the book as a whole and its detailed wordings and sentence patterns, followed by a search for proper translation strategies with the standard of Buddhism-specific styles. Lastly, the evaluation and prospect of TibetanEnglishChinese translation are put forth by observing the academic and publishing communities. The second part contains the Chinese translation and annotations, which mark the sources of the scriptures in the Chinese translation and the comparison between Chinese and English versions.
