Abstract | 經濟快速發展雖帶來生活水準的提升,但也引起整個生態環境的失衡,對人類生存環境造成莫大傷害。人類在經濟發展到一個階段之後,更該要注重生態環境的保護與維持,在使用環境資源的同時,亦要一面維護環境資源,對於整個生態環境與經濟發展做妥善且長遠性的計劃,兩者可以相互配合、相輔相成。生態環境是整體的存在。整體的生態若其中某一環節遭受傷害,其他部份一定也會引起連鎖作用的破壞效應。物質的環境、生態的環境、社會的環境,三者健康的共存才能組成一個完整的生態環境。 台灣近數年來天災人禍不斷,災害不會是一時造成的,是經過長期的累積,當達到環境無法承受的程度便一舉爆發,例如山上的土石流、平地的淹水,都是人類長年的對環境的傷害所造成的。台灣已是已開發國家,災害預防不應如此落後,雖然台灣宗教團體曾對環境保護提出具有建設性的觀點,但是實際的影響卻依然有限。人與自然應如何相處,一直是環境倫理的重要課題。而中華文化深具環保的傳統思想,對於人與自然的關係,一直肯定應以和諧互助為主,本文試圖以環境倫理觀的角度來探討佛教與道教對與自然環境態度。以「環境倫理學是一套有助於地球生態完整性的價值觀與行為」定義著手,探討前人對於佛教與道教環境倫理學研究。再比較佛教與道教對環境倫理觀,以相關文獻、書籍、期刊、時事、論文為參考和依據,道教認為人不該只用人的角度去對待大自然,應要有道教「天人一體」觀,與環境相融、共存、共享、共生,以達到內外身心都平衡;而佛教則認為萬物都有佛性的存在,既有佛性,皆能成佛,對於萬物應給予肯定與平等對待,瞭解並學習和各類眾生平等相處。除了比較出差異性和共同性之外,並從兩大宗教團體的環境倫理觀中,提出更具創新以及更多有用的觀點,將此相互整合形成普遍、積極、正面且符合自然原則的環境倫理觀與日常生活中環保行動的道德價值,培養人類對待環境的態度與生態倫理價值觀,以此寄望台灣社會能配合政府的政策徹底實行環境倫理,保育這片珍貴的水土,讓下一代可以永續持用。
The rapid development of economy has enhanced the modern living; on the other hand, it has also unbalanced the ecology and exceedingly damaged our living environment. As a result, people should attach more importance to preserving the ecological environment while employing the resources from it. To make a better future, implementing long-term plans on both economical development and environment preservation has become a great issue.
Within these years, there have been continuous natural and man-made calamities in Taiwan. Instead of sudden happenstance, these calamities such as floods or even land flows have all burst out due to a long-time overload accumulation of damages by human. In a highly developed country, such like Taiwan, comprehensive prevention of calamities should have been highly concerned. However, even though the religion groups in Taiwan have once put forward constructive suggestions to the environmental protection, the actual influence on the society is still limited.
The way of human getting along with the nature has always been an important subject of the environmental ethics. The concept of environmental protection in traditional Chinese culture is always harmonious and cooperative when it comes to the relationship between people and nature. This article is going to discuss how Buddhism and Taoism treat the nature with the view of environmental ethics.
First, the article will demonstrate the previous studies about the environmental ethics of Buddhism and Taoism. Continue to compare these two religions’ theories of environmental ethics with relevant literature, books, journals, current events and essays. Last, more innovative and available standpoints will be put forward and incorporated. The intention is to compose prevalent environmental ethics that conform to the nature, and also to cultivate moral values for people and their daily acts to protect the environment. Hopefully, the entire Taiwanese society will cooperate with the government to practice the environmental ethics thoroughly, and the precious land will therefore be well preserved to the offspring. |
