The direction of this paper is about the core value of Confucius from the «The Great Philosophers», written by the famous modern German philosopher Karl Jaspers, and «The Brief Explanation of the Analects», published by the founder of Bliss and Wisdom Group, Master Jih-Chang.
Both Chinese and Western wise men have mentioned the importance of transcending instinct to inspire Yen (仁, benevolence) and truly become a person, and have emphasized that the direction of learning and the connotation of practice must be derived from internal improvement. Through continuous learning, one can light up his/her heart and mind; and step by step, one can inspire the beauty of Yen (仁, benevolence) from the family to the society and the world. The ideals of Confucius's Great Unity(大同) are no longer out of reach, and the hope of the future lies in the hearts of every mankind.
With the development of modern science and technology, spiritual and internal learning and education have been ignored. The inner power contained in Confucius's thought is an indispensable element of the contemporary world and worthy of being explored by scholars all over the world.
