Abstract證嚴法師的「靜思語」以「大愛」思想為根本,融合儒、道、佛各家的思想,本研究的核心議題在探討證嚴法師的「靜思語」所蘊含的生命教育理念,以及上人如何將其對生命的關懷與尊重應用在慈濟的各項志業,教育慈濟人尊重自己、他人和大自然的生命。
證嚴法師在生命歷程中的宗教經歷,對其日後在生命實踐之過程有著最深刻的影響;而佛教的「三世因果」、「生命無常」的生命觀,讓上人體悟出「行善消惡」的道理,進而成立「佛教慈濟功德會」,把小愛化為大愛,集合眾人力量行善助人,落實印順導師「為佛教、為眾生」的「人間菩薩」理念。
慈濟各項志業的成立,即是證嚴法師在宗教思想上的精髓與實踐,亦是證嚴法師生命實踐上的最大成就。上人用「愛」及「感恩」串連慈濟人的心,建立服務的人生觀,從食衣住行教導慈濟人愛物惜物的觀念,推動「環保」,用實際行動疼惜地球,更進一步打破生死禁忌,提倡「器官捐贈」及「大體捐贈」,讓人的生命發揮最後的價值,讓慧命永存人間。證嚴法師對於生命的關懷與教育,內容包含生死、宗教、環境、倫理等議題,實可成為現行生命教育課程一個良好的參考方向。

Master Cheng-Yen’s “Still Thoughts” are based on the “Indiscriminate Love” and integrate the thoughts of Confucianism, Taoism and Buddhism. This study focuses on the perspective of life education in Master Cheng- Yen’s “Still Thoughts” and how Master Cheng-Yen applied her perspective of life to the Buddhist Tzu Chi Philanthropic Association and taught the members of Tzu Chi to respect others’ life.
Master Cheng-Yen’s religious experience deeply affected her. Because of perspective of the “causal retribution (karma)” and “the law of three lives“, Master Cheng Yen understood that we could do something to help others and atone for our mis-giving. Therefore, she formed the Buddhist Tzu Chi Philanthropic Association and united the members to do charity and performed the Master Yishun’s principle of “Humanistic Buddhism”.
The spirit of Tzu Chi’s dharma path, is the essence of religious thought and practice of Master Cheng Yen, and this is the greatest achievement in her life practice. Master Cheng-Yen used love and gratitude to unite the members of Tzu Chi and cultivated the perspective of service in their daily life. She also taught them to cherish everything and took action to save the Earth. Master Cheng-Yen hopes everyone lives to the fullest, so she advocates Organ Donation and Body Donation. Master Cheng-Yen’s life education includes the thoughts of life and death, religions, environment, and ethics. Above all, Master Cheng-Yen’s interpretation of life, offers a good direction to Taiwan’s Life Education.
