| Abstract | 本文認為，慧能大師作為中國禪史上開一代新風的禪師，其出現決不是歷史發展的偶然，如果從中國文化發展的規律著眼，究可見其有深刻之因. 這其中既有慧能對人的生命存在的現實狀態的批判性思考，祐有對繁瑣名相，經師之學，和陳式化的修行方法的革新，還有與老莊的自然主義，玄學的得意忘形和儒家的重視人生等學說的思想相通. 慧能正是順應了時代需要，在繼承與發展佛教中國化的基礎上，通過對傳統禪法的變革與創新才使中國禪宗的發展出現了新的氣象.
