| Abstract | 儘管研究佛教藝術的論著已取得驚人的成就，不過到目前為止，似乎沒有較有系統地討論「左（右）廂菩薩」這個術語的論著。故而本文擬從若干相關的文獻中，嚐試對這個術語的起源、發展與某些相關問題（如左葙菩薩的優越性）作出解釋。
Despite the remarkable achievements of the studies on Buddhist art, nevertheless, there seems a relative lack of systematic discussion and research on the terminology “The Bodhisattva over the Left (Right) Side” (左 (右) 廂菩薩) . Given the gap in studies on this terminology, by analyzing some relevant literature, this research aims to explicate the origin, the development of this terminology, and some related question, like the superiority of the bodhisattva over the left side.
