Abstract | 《金剛經》是屬於初期大乘佛教的典籍。本論文主要以姚秦‧鳩摩羅什所譯的《金剛般若波羅蜜經》的註釋為中心,對菩薩之「根機」這方面,做一思想的研究。依《金剛經》之內容與架構,加上自古以來,祖師大德對此經的註解,採用文獻觀察、分析、歸納、與比較的研究方法,進行討論這部《金剛經》中有關根機的問題。從菩薩觀、階位次第、根熟未熟菩薩、退不退轉菩薩、利鈍菩薩、和菩薩之實踐等不同角度來觀察根機的差別。其目的是是為了凸顯出初期大乘菩薩道的精神。 《金剛經》般若空性之理論,透過對於根機之研究;一方面表示金剛般若之甚深智慧,一方面說明佛菩薩的方便道,能以善巧方便度化上根、中根、下根的不同根機。本經勸導菩薩發起菩提心之後,於不住涅槃與不住生死的菩薩行,會產生有為與無為、世間與出世間、輪迴與涅槃並不二的看法,肯定現實的生活。透過實踐空觀的慈悲心與修行方法,可以淨化社會,把世間成為人間淨土的理想境界。 根機之研究,使菩薩在這個世界易於下手功夫,弘法度生,自利利他。於日常生活當中可以實現人間淨土的理想。《金剛經》中菩薩以六度萬行歸納於布施、忍辱之項目中。與人相處時,布施、忍辱表現於用善心、微笑、好話、愛語、供養、包容等善行對待他人,使菩薩道之難行,轉化爲大家皆可行於生活當中的。這些善行隱含著深奧的般若真理;自己精進修行的同時,也可以利樂他人。菩薩又以服務大眾視為自己的修養。這也是《金剛經》人間修行的智慧。
The Diamond Sutra falls under the early Mahayana sutras. This essay is mainly based on the commentary on Kumarajiva’s translation of the Prajnaparamita Diamond Sutra, researching the aspect of boddhisattva’s capacities in order to figure out of bodhisattva idea. Based on the Diamond Sutra’s content and structure, and the commentary of Venerable-Patriarch from ancient time to present on this sutra, writer utilizes the methods of examination, analysis, induction and comparison, to discuss the different of capacities in the Diamond Sutra. From the views on bodhisattvas, the order of their stages, whether or not their karmic roots have ripened, whether or not they might still regress, whether they have sharp or dull faculties, and how they practice, we examine the difference in their capacities from all these different angles. The purpose of this is to highlight the spirit of the Bodhisattva path in early Mahayana.
The theory of great wisdom about emptiness (Prajñā sunyata) inthe Diamond Sutra,via researching various capacities, on one hand reveals the depth of wisdom inthe Diamond Sutra, on the other hand explains the Buddha’s and bodhisattvas’ expedient methods, using skillful means to liberate sentient beings with high, medium and low capacities. This sutra advises the bodhisattvas, after giving rise to Bodhicitta, that they should practice without attachment to either nirvana or samsara, resulting in the view of the non-duality of conditioned and unconditioned, worldly and transcendent dharmas, as well as nirvana and samsara, in his actual life. Through maintaining the view of emptiness and practicing compassion, it can purify society and transform this world into the ideal world of the Pure Land.
The research of capacities, makes it easier for the bodhisattva in this world to set out to practice, spread the Dharma and liberate sentient beings, benefitting oneself and others, and realize Pure Land in everyday life. Inthe Diamond Sutra, the bodhisattva’s myriad of practices related to the six perfections is summed up by the perfections of generosity and patience. When getting along with others, practicing generosity and forbearance is manifested in treating them with kindness, smile, kind words, pay respect,tolerance, etc., to make the Bodhisattva path can be practiced by everyone in their daily life. These kinds of benevolent behaviors indicate profound wisdom of the ultimate truth, practicing diligently while at the same time benefitting and bringing joy to others.Furthermore, the bodhisattvas consider serving all beings as their own cultivation,which is also the wisdom of the Diamond Sutra’s humanistic practice. |
