Natural disasters and diseases have always been one of the challenges for human survival. In the face of unavoidable natural disasters and diseases, how to deal with them in order to avoid evil and seek good fortune may be explored from the successful ways of the ancients. This article discusses Su Shi's (1036-1101) second time worked experience in Hangzhou (1089-1091). His attitudes and methods reduce West Lake floods and plagues encountered as the discussion content. To explore his knowledge and actions to lead the people to reduce lives and property, hope to provide another inspiration for today's epidemic management.
